Crystal Hot Springs

Crystal Hot Springs is one of the treasures of Northern Utah. If floating in a natural hot spring with beautiful mountain scenery above you sounds like your jam, then put this place on your bucket list! Crystal Hot Springs has the highest mineral content for hot springs in the WORLD.

I loved that this place had several things going for it to keep everyone in the family happy. There are several pools with varying depths and temperatures. There are several waterfalls feeding into the hot spring pools (some ice cold and others boiling hot). I especially loved the cave behind the largest waterfall because it was shallow enough inside for my baby to crawl around in.

If your kids are tall enough, you can pay a few dollars extra so they can try out the two large warm water slides. Link here for current prices.

There is also a regular heated pool with chlorine if you get a little overheated in the springs fed pools.

This place has been around for a long time, but recent upgrades have made the springs a must-do for Utah families. If you feel like making it a weekend or overnight trip, then reserve a RV or tent spot located on site.

Personally, I prefer to visit hot springs when the weather is cool, so we went as our #optoutside activity during Black Friday. No shopping for us! I am so glad we did because the snow covered mountains and cool sprinkle of rain were the perfect way to experience Crystal Hot Springs.

Tip: Crystal Hot Springs has the highest mineral content in the WORLD for hot springs. I didn’t notice any discomfort while soaking, but the water is definitely salty to the taste. I could feel the salt? minerals? on my face and everyone needed a quick shower once we got home. Not a big deal, but something to plan for if you do want to tent camp here.

I am looking forward to returning in the future, maybe after a long day of skiing!

Location: Honeyville, UT

If you want a natural hot spring out in the wilds, you may need to take a hike to Fifth Water Hot Springs near Spanish Fork.

Happy trails!
