Lisa Falls

Lisa Falls is a seasonal waterfall located up Little Cottonwood canyon; it is a quirky little waterfall that cascades at an angle. The trail up to the falls follows a lovely little creek with some of the clearest water I’ve seen.

The trail is short, but is a steady uphill climb – easy enough for kids to tackle.

I really liked the giant white granite boulders at the bottom of the falls (almost more than the falls themselves).

Overall this is a short little adventure good for young kids, or as a side trip on the way to a longer hike. (I combined this trail with the Hidden Falls trail up the adjacent canyon.)

  • Be sure to visit these falls between April and early June. I’m pretty sure these falls pitter-out as the summer heats up.
  • Parking is very limited (small pullouts on the either side of the road rather than a paved parking lot). Try to visit on a cloudy day or weekday to avoid fighting for a spot. The parking area on the left side will help you avoid crossing the road.
  • This is also a popular spot for sport climbing to the right of the falls.

Visited this morning with my 3 kids (6,8, 10) Very easy, wear water shoes (chacos!) Still plenty of water coming off of it. Great short hike to impress visitors. Parking is between mile markers 6 and 7.

I love this hike, I’ve done it probably 15 times. I usually hike up past that fall and go to the seventh fall. I don’t know how many waterfalls there are though, I’ve only reached where the “trail” ends once, and I don’t remember it because I fell off a cliff on the way down. I’ve always seen SOME water there, just not as much in colder months. A great trail despite my super bad luck though!
